Hello, my name is Joanne Tamburro and thank you for visiting my site. Ever since I was a little girl I've been an
animal lover. I lived in Queens, NY and there were a lot of homes being built and new construction sites everywhere. These sites became our playgrounds
and also dumping grounds for unwanted pets. These poor creatures would follow me home and into my heart. I would often nurse them back to health,
calling the neighborhood vets to ask for advice in curing them of everything from open wounds, acute diarrhea, vomiting, to near starvation. My poor mom never knew
what I was bringing home next. After I got these strays healthy, I would find them good homes and visit them throughout my neighborhood. I always
begged my mom to let me keep them but we had a family dog already and my mom didn't share my love for the animal kingdom. |

After growing up with dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish, hamsters and lizards, I think I put my mother through her limits of tolerance with my love for
animals. When I got married and set up my home, I bought a beautiful boxer named Sugar to grow up alongside my two children. My kids grew up with
Sugar and most of my pictures of my children include that sweet angel. My children share my respect and love for animals and never mistreated even
the smallest pup. Although we all took the passing of my Sugar girl very hard, we felt so fortunate to have had her for more than 13 years. |

Now that my children have grown, I wanted to leave the cooperate world and do something that I've always felt a passion for and have been totally
connected to. This was my reason to begin Howl and Hoof; so that people could have a compassionate person who loves animals, take care of their precious
pets when they are not available. There is a need for more childcare in the workplace, but there's also a need for the family's beloved pet. Dogs
especially get very lonely and bored during the day and need to be let out, socialized and exercised. I offer my services as an alternative to a
kennel in providing your dog one-on-one attention and a loving home environment. If you truly love your pet, you can rest assured when leaving for
work or vacation, that your dog will be well taken care of.
With all my heart,
Joanne :o) |
